John Corbett
Conservative Businessman & Farmer
John Corbett is a life-long resident of Echols County. He was raised on a farm that his family continues to operate today. He is a graduate of Echols County High School, Valdosta Technical College, and Valdosta State University.
Elected to the State House in 2014, he has proven himself as a strong, conservative voice for South Georgia. In the House, John serves as the Chairman of the Motor Vehicles Committee and as member of the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Transportation, Rural Development, Game, Fish & Parks, Natural Resources, Ways & Means, and Rural Development Committees.
A committed family man, John and his wife Rebecca have been married for 40 years. They have one daughter, Audrey Corbett Hughes, and two grandchildren, Kenzie (11) and Tucker (8).
A small businessman, John, with his brothers, own Corbett Electric and Construction Company, and John is also in the timber and tree farm business. Prior to starting his own business, John worked with the paper mill in Clyattville as an electrician for 17 years.
He is a member and deacon at Sardis Baptist Church where he serves as the Church clerk, treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher.
John is also an avid hunter and fisherman, and he is a member of the NRA.
He coached girls’ softball and fastpitch softball for many years at the Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs as well as being a community coach for the Echols County High School girls’ fastpitch team.
Fighting for Farmers
As a farmer himself, John Corbett understands how important it is to have an advocate for our ag industry in Atlanta. He’s working day in and day out to make sure our agriculture community isn’t left in the dust.
Growing Our Economy
Georgians are still reeling from the inflation caused by Joe Biden. That’s why John has joined Governor Kemp and Republican colleagues in delivering over $6 billion in tax relief to Georgians. He also fought for relief for South Georgians impacted by Hurricane Helene. John has also led to keep Georgia a top destination for business and he plans to keep it that way. But that doesn’t just mean bringing jobs to Atlanta. It means making real investments and creating opportunities here in South Georgia. John will continue to use his experience as a small businessman to help promote our existing South Georgia businesses and grow new opportunities.
Blocking the Woke Mob’s Agenda
Make no mistake about it - the Left is coming for our values. John has successfully blocked their radical agenda from our state and he will continue that fight for us in Atlanta. No men in girl’s sports. No sex changes for kids. No taxpayer funded abortions. Whatever crazy schemes they try next, John stands ready to block them.
Protecting Our Values
John will never back down from defending our conservative values. That’s why he championed passage of the strongest pro-life law in the country, protected and expanded our gun rights, passed the toughest election integrity law in the nation, and fought to protect our religious freedom and right to worship.
Cracking Down on Crime
From illegal immigration to gang activity, John Corbett does not take our safety lightly. He’s committed to supporting police and punishing those who commit crimes in our community.
